late shifting when cold???

do you mean when first starting off in the morning or when it's been sitting for a while?
if so, that's the upshift delay control. it holds first and second gear a little longer, till about 2500-3000 RPMs then shifts. This is to warm up the cat converters quicker so it's more efficient at working. This is normal.
