2007 C2804matic Oxygen Sensor ????

Hello Folks,

So I have a couple of questions regarding the Oxygen sensors for my car a 2007 C280 4matic.

How many are there and where are they located? Any DIY threads will be helpful.

I know there is pre cat and post cat, Is that the same for this car too?? And since it is V6 there might be pass side and driver side as well.

Alos, in sequence of elimination which ones should I start replacing first?

Please any advise or guidance will be helpful.

Hi Javvy,

Your car has 4 O2 sensors. Here are the part numbers.
A 003 542 71 18 LEFT, Upstream
A 003 542 70 18 RIGHT, Upstream
A 002 540 08 17 LEFT, Downstream
A 002 540 01 17 RIGHT, Downstream

Data from Upstream (pre-cat) O2 sensors are used to determine/change air-to-fuel ratio.
Downstream (post-cat) O2 sensors tell the efficiency of the cats.

Are there any issues with the car? or you just want to change them as a preventive maintenance. If preventive maintenance, replace the pre-cat O2 sensors.

No PCY, chasing the same old 18 codes trying to resolve it. I looked into the smog air pump relay, replaced it, direct wired the smog pump it works fine...next step would be the O2 sensor, and last would be the manifold...

Here is the link for the 18 codes....https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post6113714
