are body kits easy to install?
hypothetically, if i were to get like a brabus or carlsson kit - front lip spoiler, side thingies and rear thingie, are those a DIY type of job or is it recommended to take it to a shop?
do people normally install them themselves?

I don't think they are that hard to install.. You would have to get the Body kit painted by a good shop though.. I had a 4 peace Saleen Body Kit for my Mustang GT. I had the kit painted at a local paint shop and put the body kit in my self one afternoon. It wasn't very hard.. I think if your patient and carefull, you should be able to do it your self... Good Luck..

Most properly designed body kits are fairly easy to install. However, due to the risk of scratching, or even breaking the part, I would suggest that you have a body shop do it for you. Also, a body shop will be better equipped to solve any problems if certain parts don't allign/connect right.

I would not recommend it. It is not a DIY job.
Sometimes, it requires blending of the paint. It usually requires a lot of disassembly of the bumpers. The side skirts will most likely require tapping of screws to hold them up.
I had my Brabus kit installed at the body shop and I watched the progress of it over several days and there was no way I could have done it.

My local dealer has a Brabus G-Wagon. It looks cartoonish with a large wing on top, brabus wheels, side exiting exhaust tips, a aero body kit (on a bank vault on wheels). It looked like something HotWheels dreamed up.
