Front brake rotor scoring

Hi all,
Looking for advice.
Drove on these rotors for about a year and a half, thinking about replacing them and the brake pads soon.
They came this way from the PO which has me wondering how they got this bad to begin with.
They are deeper in the middle with the top and bottom less worn. Does anyone know the cause and how I can prevent these grooves from happening? Also should I go with OE or buy after market rotors/pads?
Thanks.

I had slotted drilled rotors on my Audi that got like this. The suspect was rust/dust build up in the slots and drilled holes. I ended up going back to solid rotors; if you don't track the car there is very little reason to have them drilled or slotted, especially if you live anywhere that salt is used on the roads in the winter.

my experience exactly described as well. Back on solid rotors. And one of the drilled and slotted rotors warped as well after 2 years. solid rotors are the cheapest and most reliable. Drilled and slotted do look cooler. Performance is debateable. I feel like i am getting better stopping power now without.

When you experience uneven wear always check and lube up guide pins and all moving surfaces. Also make sure caliper is operating correctly.
Sounds like your issue might just be normal for your car though. How many miles are on those rotors?

Thanks for the replies. I would get solid discs if I could find ones, but it seems my model with the sport package only drilled ones are offered except for the cheapest ones coming from china.

I honestly couldn't say how many miles since the service records I got only went back 2 years. The car has 97k miles currently.

I've made changing them a priority since the braking power doesn't seem the same as when I first got it. Just ordered akebono pads and new discs. Will definitely ensure everything is lubed correctly when installing and hope for the best.

Great pads they should last you a very long time as long as the rotors are of high quality.
