2006 C230 slow to accelerate
I have a 2006 C230 Sport and the acceleration is delayed a few seconds when the pedal is pushed. I have always thought it was lagging and when it was new I took it to the dealer to see if something was wrong, but they told me it was as designed…
Now that the car has some age on it there seems to have “more lag time”! This makes me nerves pulling into traffic because when I floor it-sometimes it barley goes anywhere, especially when the car is cold. It seems that this is an electrical issue to me because the accelerate pedal is electric and it does not seem to be conveying the message that it is time to go, and go fast.
Any thoughts on how to make this problem better? This issue has given me a scare several time lately while pulling into traffic and I do not look forward to getting t-boned because I miss read how fast a car was coming and how slow my car would start off. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just bought an '02 C320 a couple of weeks ago which had this exact same problem. I also had an intermittet rough idle while in drive at stop lights. Last weekend I changed the spark plugs, ignition wires, fixed a loose, rigid pipe that goes into the intake (it runs next to the MAF on the driver side). When I was done, I did the throttle body position reset (turn ignition key to position 2, hold gas pedal all the way down for 5 seconds, turn ignition key off while still holding pedal down. Release pedal, wait 5 minutes then start).
I don't know which of l these things or what combination of them solved the problem, but now it idles smooth as silk and as soon as I touch the pedal as lightly as possible, it takes off like a rocket. Hope this helps.
