C-Class Tele-Aid Cancellation procedure...
FYI, I called MBUSA this morning to inquire on the procedure for cancelling Tele-aid (I have about 5 weeks before the first anniversary of my Tele-Aid subscription).
I was told to write a letter stating I wanted to cancel. Include the VIN for the car, your name, address, etc. and sign and date the letter. Then...
FAX to: 1-877-275-7761
Thought I'd pass along this info. I think you should document in writing your cancellation, to avoid some of the problems others have related here.

Can I fax it now for 4 months in advanced? I get $9 per year off for this feature from the $3,300 a year a pay for insurance so I'll have to think long and hard before cancelling. OK I thought about it long enough, I'm cancelling. It's on the Palm Pilot for a week before the freebie expires.
We need this info out on FAQ somewhere!
Did you make an appointment to have the feature turned off so you don't get the 1 Malfunction message everytime you start the car?

Yes, I will plan to visit the dealer to have them delete the malfunction posting message, if needed.

Better edit your Palm Pilot... They want 30 days (minimum) written notice prior to your anniversary date, not a week.

I think you can go ahead and write in to cancel it 4 months in advance, but I think I would wait until a month or so. They are not the most competent people in the world over there at Tele-Aid, and giving them 4 months notice would likely confuse them.

I seem to recall you had lots of problems with this, SoCal. I wanted to be sure that I had a paper trail request, with a FAX time stamp, etc. so I could document my request, to avoid some of the run-around you and others got.
A month ago, I called to have the unlock my car remotely (a test on my part) and they didn't even know there wasn't a button on my trunk to push to start the process... no success at opening the car. I tried this again last Friday, and they had their act together. They walked me through it and opened the car without problems. I guess it's a matter of who you get when you call... like most any help desk.
