2007 C230 Climate Control Issues
Hi Everyone,
I'm having issues troubleshooting my climate control problem. Here are the issues....
A/C/Heat only blows through the top window vents
- occasionally it will blow through the regular vents when I cold start it from sitting overnight but that lasts about a minute and then the window vents turn back on and nothing out of the mid and lower vents.
When A/C is on and I have to step on the gas (not common), the A/C will blow hot for a few seconds.
Auto button just doesn't work, it doesn't ever get it right, either starts to blow heat and then goes cold then goes hot etc.
Whenever I turn off the auto button, the A/C button turns on. (doesn't seem right to me)
She still blows cold and hot though. I purchased a new controller off ebay a few days ago but I was told its extremely rare for the controller to be bad. I'll try it anyway when I get it but I was hoping for some other opinions if you have any.
thank you in advance!

With the W203 you lost the AC self diagnostics of the W210----where does that leave the W211 drivers, either continue with all the guesses, suppositions or whatever----or find someone with DAS Xentry to correctly diagnose the AC electrical and refrigerant systems.
If the compressor is not engaged you won't be able to establish the H and L pressure data and learn the status of the refrigerant system.

Very rare for the controller to go bad, but yours may very well be. For example, turning off AUTO should not engage the AC, it should be the other way round. Try the new controller, if that fails to fix it then get it hooked up to DAS. If you were nearby I would have been more than glad to hook you up...
good luck
