Replaced passenger door jamb switch still no interior light

So I replaced passenger door jamb switch to see if it would correct;

1)No interior light when PAX door open.

2)Misc warning messages about airbag on/off when car detects weight on PAX seat but door not opened.

The question is after replacing the door jamb switch what the next thing in line to check or replace? Trying to avoid a trip to the stealership over a $10 part.

I'd have some one check the front SAM

Regarding the airbag, I wouldn't jerk around with that one---it's time for someone with DAS and a quick test!!

Plutoe, I know what you're saying. The sensor in the seat is functioning fine, person in seat airbag on, no person airbag off. It's when someone sits in the seat the car turns in airbag on, I get the warning because the car doesn't see the door open and close so it doesn't know what's causing the weight on the seat [i.e. heavy object?].

What is the "front SAM"? Does something have to be reset after the switch is replaced?

The SAM(signal acquisition module) is located under hood, a function is to receive signals from the door switches and passes on the information for use by other control modules---I typically do not guess---I hook my DAS Xentry to the car and produce a quick test---does the SAM have a fault----if so I interrogate the SAM and learn what's the problem---then I fix the problem!!

And yes with the quick test I will see the airbag fault and after clearing all faults I would do another quick test to see what fault does or does not come back.(is the air bag a sympathetic fault(caused by door switch) or not)

and you want to do this in your back yard!!
