5-speed 722.6 Transmission Problems
So you installed the kit on the original valve body and had the tranny reprogrammed everything with the original valve body and kit installed? When you say adaptations do you mean just the transmission learning the driving habits of the driver or a factory type of reset. I mean there's the type of adaptation reset where you press down the pedal for 10 seconds whiles having the key in the 2nd position then shutting off the ignition and releasing the pedal which supposedly resets the learning the transmission does when you drive.
I'll talk to a shop about having this done and I'll order the kit if they're going to do this. I know of 2 really good Euro shops that specialize in MB products among others. Transmission work I'd never attempt. All I've done to this car myself is doing my oil/filter change, air filter change, spark plug change and change the front brake rotors and pads. The rest will be left to a shop.
What worked was to connect a Star computer tool to the vehicle computer and reset the transmission adaptations to factory defaults.
The Sonnax kits are cheap, but the labor to install them will not be! I'll guess that someone who knows what they are doing could do it in about 3 hours. No guarantee that this will resolve your particular problem though.
If your shop has the proper computer tool it would only take a few minutes to reset the transmission adaptations first - to see if that does anything. If that does not work then they could try the Sonnax kits or conductor plate or solenoid(s)...
However I have not been driving the car much because of the engine "lifter-like" ticking noise. Until I can diagnose that I don't want to make things worse!
As for you transmission issues I had a similar experience with a fellow members car. The dealer said he needed a new transmission and 15 minutes with my star machine resetting the adaptations he has been good for I believe almost two years now.
