Need help.. Potentially buying c230
Hi All-
Have a friend who is moving and wants to sell me his 2005 c230 Kompressor 4dr. The vehicle has 122k miles and body and interior is in incredible condition and rides perfect.
Have a couple question was hoping the MB community could help:
1. Are there common problems that occur in this model I should check upon pre-purchase inspection?
2. For a coolant change, since there is no radiator, does coolant go in the overflow tank?
3. Is there a dipstick for transmission fluid? Is there a drain plug? Is the a valve mod?
4. Is there a pcv valve? Do people run seafoam through it to clean the engine?
5. Is there a timing belt or chain? If a chain does it need to be changed?
6. In terms of performance mods, what is available and common?
Thanks in advance!

1. timing chain
2. there IS a radiator, but generally you fill though expansion tank
3. have no idea, i drive stick
4. no pcv, you can use other hoses with vacuum
5. chain. it's hit or miss, tons of info here. Some last 200k miles, some fail at 80 k
6. pulley upgrade, headers, chip, etc

Thanks for the response. Apologize for the newbie questions. I did look through the forum but it's kind of overwhelming.
Yea I know there is a radiator but my question was how to refill given there is no radiator cap. Looks like you just go through the expansion tank as you advised.
In terms of chips, I didn't see anything specific. Have any suggestions?
Also, what is the pulley upgrade?
Sure these are common questions on this forum but if anyone has a chance to respond and explain I would geatlg appreciate it!!
Also are there likely trouble spots I should be aware of for this car??
