c200 brake switch or neutral safety switch
Hello all,
we bought a 2002 c200 which started and ran well when we viewed it, after one day of use the break lining wear alert appeared. After the car was parked it refused to start again until I locked and unlocked it a few times then it did. Now the car will not start and is also stuck in park,, we managed to unlock it from park and push it to the side of the road. We have bought a brake light switch but yet to find where to put it, we appreciate any pointers. Neutral safety switch could be another option

Might need one of the gurus, but it could be an electrical fault. Check the battery voltage as sometimes a faulty battery will cause a whole heap of problems, especially if the car has sat for a while.
OR it could be a problem with the front SAM module. Engine electronics AND transmission electronics both have fuses in the from SAM. Check fuses and your battery. Doesn't sound too expensive, thank goodness.
