There I was, all set to change the transmission fluid after combing forums, youtube, and the repair manual for the car for method. I determined the car would probably have the sealed transmission fill port that requires you to remove the red locking pin and use a dipstick tool to check fluid level. So I removed the air filter housing off the engine and I could not locate any such fill port in the engine compartment. However I found a "childproof" cap on top of the transmission. Please help me complete my fluid change. I have all the tools I need and have no desire to take it to the stealership.
Note: this is a 7 speed transmission

I searched online and confirmed with MB I have a 722.9. I think I will go ahead and do the fluid change given information on other threads and forums. I might just get the hotdog as well! Thanks for your response.
Thank you so much for the photo. I couldn't have taken better myself. I did manage to pry off the orangish oval plastic cap a little to the passenger side of the black cap that you featured. We have a leak that is likely trans fluid since engine oil and coolant are not leaking. Maybe it's the elec connection into the transmission. Haven't been underneath yet to learn more. Wanted to just pour in a few ounces of fluid while waiting for the dip stick and then the whole day changed when access to the tranny fluid change as is the theme of this thread. Can I just pour ATF into the opening where I pried off the orange oval plastic cap?
