w203 interior heating problem
Hi,
Maybe someone had or heard something about heating problem like mine:
When engine is at high temp, heating is set on max temp (26+) manually or auto heating, the warm air is blown only to the windscreen and from the side, mid or rear holes cold conditioned air is being blown out.
So in other words, AC isn't turning off and the hot air isn't blown out anywhere except to the windscreen.
Is there any clue about this? Where should I start to look for the cause?
Thanks! w203 2001 C180

The middle never blows hot, turn the blue dial off when it is cold time of the year. Rear vents also blow just cold.
If by mid hole you mean the triangular big vent on top of the dash, then you have a problem. Most likely broken linkage/stepper motor which control what direction hot/cold air goes, see the whole thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...g-hissing.html

Thanks!
I've made the test/reset procedure and it kept running and didn't stop. The other interesting thing is that, during the process hot air was being blown through the side holes and it's not being blown when I make it do that manually.
Now the other thing is, what kind of diagnostic should I have to determine the exact motor that's not controlling the vents?
Since I'm not from US, could You describe the process of identifying the cause? Or should go to Mercedes service center?
Thanks!
