How to reset the Service indicator?

I went to the dealership to get Service A done. I was told that Factory warranty has expired and the extended warranty does not cover the scheduled maintenance!!! anyway I asked to get the oil and filter chang only.
Does anybody know what is covered in service A?
Was it a bad choice from me to go only for the oil change?
Does anybody know how can I reset the service indicator since the service people refused to reset it.

I have C240/2001

Hope someone can shed some light on these issues. Thanks

um...4yr/50,000 mile warranty covers the included scheduled maintainance. I see your an '01 C240....should be covered.

Did you try talking to the manager of the dealership?

just an oil and filter change is fine...this is the core part of the service anyhow, besides topping off fluids (which they usually do at oil changes). Other things include just looking over the car to make sure things are in order and report back to you what needs to be done or replaced, etc.

What is your mileage? Because it's 4 years or 50,000 miles...whichever comes first. So if you over, the service is outta your pockets. The services can be expensive, depending on what's done besides the oil changes, blades, etc.

Good luck.

They should have reset the service light for you? if not, it explains it in the manual somewhere or you can search it up on the forum.

Switch to the service indicator screen in the MFD and press and hold the reset button.

And if it doesn't come up when you go thru the menu then it means that the previous owner had the stealership delete it thru the DAS software. That way you will have to go back and pay them to activate it.

Many thanks to all of you... all your comments is a great help to me. In fact I am the original owner of the car so I am sure I did not delete anything. the car is 3 years old with 51k. I am was suprized to know that extended warranty does not cover the schedule maintenance. I need to look into the rest button and follow your instructions. Thanks once again for everybody.
