C240 Loud! humming when stopped and driving. From rear.

Please Help !!

There is this loud humming from the rear of my car sounds like its more by the rear left tire. It used to be fine until I drove with more people and it would start making the noise when I accelerate kinda hard. But it goes off when I turn the car off.

Now it does it easier and as always when I stop its still making the noise until I turned the car off.
Now when I put the key in turn to the second position and hold it. It starts but if i let it sit it would stop until I cranked the car. then it would come back on.

Could that be fuel level sender ? I was thinking differential until i notice it stopped with the key held in the second position.

Its very loud if you need a video I can record one. You can hear it from like 30ft away.

Oh and I'll be putting in my new power steering pump today as well.

I'm just guessing now, but to me it seems to be fuel pump related in some way.

When you turn on the ignition, the fuel pump is supposed to build up pressure for a while and then shut off.

Obviously, it has to run all the time when the engine is running, since it's using fuel then.

And the fuel pump on a W203 is located in the tank, which is under the floor just in front of the rear axle.....
