C320 memory seat question

guys,

did anyone ever experience this:

after I drive for a while then push on Memory Seat Button (e.g., no. 1), suddenly there's a shift in the position (seat and sometimes mirror as well). It seems to me that somehow, the previous setting did not fully go to the Memory position and it will be returned completely to the original setting if it's pushed again.

I referred to the motion as being slight but visible motion.

I believe thats a recall in Mercedes. Check it out at the dealer. I don't have this problem but has a different one related to memory seats. They replaced my control modules in the doors and seats and fixed the problem.

car would not unlock sometimes and the right side mirror would not come back to normal position after putting car in drive from reverse.

mine does something similar. When I get in the car and start it, the steering column doesn't go down. It's stuck there and seats won't move either. I have to stop the car, wait 1 hour, then everything works.

There is an issue with the time delay of this feature. If you start the car, while this feature is working, and immediately put it in gear it has a tendency to scramble the memory and will require reprogramming.

Another one is Erik's post about replacing some control units.

I had the lazy power mirror issue, until the dealer replaced the modules. Now the mirrors don't "drift" at all.

However, I do have the retracting seat feature activated. It works as advertised, but after a week or so of back and forth several times a day, I can press the memory recall button, and notice the seat shift to the programmed position from a "drifted" position (at most 1/2" - 1" drifted). It seems that it's an issue with the retracting seat only... the other settings for height, seatback rake, etc, never seem to drift. It's not a biggie for me, but will ask them to replace those modules at my next "A" service... just because I like precision.

theres something wrong with the modules, because i wait forever and they never slide back. i also have an issue with the emergency unlock function, where when you pull on the handle all the locks on all 4 doors should unlock. well it works at 1 door from time to time then suddenly works on all fours.

Guy I know had a 2003 E320 that did the same thing. Except his was worse, and after several times trying to fix it, they gave him a new E320 to drive while they fixed his.

Never had that problem in mine.

I feel so bad as mine work perfect. Except for the mirror not always returning to the exact position it should after Reverse but I just hit the button when I notice and all fixed. Then again my wife and I are short enough that our seats never go to the intended position automatically due to the fact that there is a saftey feature that stops the seat from going to far fowrward and crushing an idiot that is not paying attention into the dash. So the seat and wheel move to about an inch away from where I need it and I need to push the button, memory one, to get the rest of the way. My wife has about 2-3 inches more to go so hers takes longer. We have been fine with this, I just wish the seat moved as fast as the ones in my 190. We do have the easy entry/exit function enabled for both the wheel and the seat on both keys. It would forget the setting when we first got the car but after some persistance in setting it two or three times on each key it remembered.
