mechanical changes for '05?

I followed a link to a British mag for a preview of the changes to the '05 (or whatever MB is calling it) C Class that will debut this summer but it wasn't helpful. Can anyone shed some light on any chassis upgrades specifically?

there is no chassis upgrade. Just headlights, interior is the biggest change with new guage cluster, steering wheel, DVD NAV, tiptronic controls on steering wheel, new wood trim

Huh... I'll have to track down that post. I thought I'd read that MB desired to compete on a more even keel with BMW and so plans to upgrade the Sport suspension. Perhaps that comment referred to the W204?

THere have been a lot of changes to the C under the skin. The transmission, linkage, and the suspension(rear mainly) have been extensively reworked. Its more than just a new front bumper.

The 6 speed is moving to a single rod transmission-mounted shift, unlike the present two-rods mounted to the body, which should improve what is nobody's favourite linkage. A small increase in power back to 192 hp.

I'm happy with my linkage in mine. Shifts are nice and tight and precise. Just the way it should be. Of course with all these changes I may have to upgrade the coupe sooner than I planned. Maybe instead of keeping it for 5 or 6 years it will be more like 3 or 4 and getting another.
