2005 C230 Kompressor Supercharger Help

I'm sure this question has been asked a million and a half times by now but upon searching I couldn't gather an answer to my questions, so here is my issueW203. I have a 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. It's in the body shop now (long story) and when I am done with the body work I plan on doing a little more work to it. It seems to be lacking power and has a weird grinding noise that sounds like it is coming from the supercharger area, however I could be mistaken. It's also funny idling, from which I am told by my former professor who was also a Mercedes-Benz tech suggested that it is probably from a vacuum line or something that runs alongside the supercharger, does that sound about right? So now to the main question, what could cause the car to feel like it has a lack of power? I have a 2004 model as well, carbon copy to mine just with 195K miles to my 99K miles on the 2005. But the 2004 model feels like it has a lot more get up and go than mine does. What would the culprit be? I planned on yanking the supercharger and head off the car and giving it a valve job and general head service (I am the managing partner of a racing machine shop). What do you guys think the problem is? What would you recommend I do?

Equipment wise not a thing. Just a lot more attention to detail, down to hundredths of a thousandth. A lot more planning goes into our work than with a stock rebuild. But when it comes to equipment it's all the same.

Make sure to check the timing chain if you have the timing cover/valve cover off. Apparently the M271 has a lot of issues with timing chain stretching around 100k miles and can cause a "grinding" noise from the crank-case. I just purchased all the parts for my 05' C230K SS and am about to change it soon, for my symptoms have been the infamous rattle upon cold start up. I hope this helps, man. Good luck.

That's something that I never thought about, you're right. I'll definitely do that while I'm that far apart.

No problem, if it wasn't for MBWorld, I wouldn't have been aware of this issue. Our engines have a simplex chain and are prone to stretching, unlike the V6 duplex chains. I would also post a video of your symptoms as well, it'll make it easier for the experts on this forum to help diagnose.

I'll definitely get a video of it as soon as I get it back from the body shop. I'm also going to see if there are any better chain options out there.
