New Car Failures

Hi All,

Finally I am picking up my new C230 this week end(Albaster White+Oyster Leather+C1+C5+C7+CD changer) Wow!!.

Well, I am just curious after reading this forum how many new cars have given major problems - including engine being cut off on the highway. Is this something peculiar to MB or other brands too?

This is a great forum and keep up the good work!!

Hi

While it is true that I've had problems with my C230K, all my reading on this site has convinced me that I have genuinely received a lemon - no-one else has reported the level of problems we've had.

It is a really nice car, and I'm glad to see there's someone else out there that took white, not that spandex-blue colour

Good luck, and enjoy the car when you get it.

Hi,

I also bought the alabaster white. I know everybody has their own reasons for getting a specific color, however, I absolutely hated the blue. That was the color of the local Mercedes test drive car because they were not able to sell it off their lot and just rotated into the test drive fleet. My local place carries has a bunch of black C230's, so I suspect they think that will be the most popular (?).

Anyway, I am sure people who bought blue love the color, so as I mentioned, it is simply personal preference. However, with the oyster leather, the alabaster white is one nice look.

Best regards,

CP

PS,

Mechanically, I have not had anything go wrong. Of course, I have only had the car for about 350 miles (2 weeks old). I did have a hairline crack on one of the steering wheel buttons that will be taken care of tomorrow.

Best regards,

CP

Personally, I think white/oyster leather with C7 is the best way to get a C230.

I've had no problems with mine.

Congrats in advance.

MBs are great fun cars to drive but the penalty for all that fun is a car that's a little tempermental. My 2002 C-coupe has been in 5 times for repairs but mostly nuisances rather than stuck on the side of the road type stuff. This is a great improvement because I've had 190s that went in 12 times just for the same problem.

Enjoy your MB and when the time comes, enjoy the loaner. Loaners are the great equalizer. Sure you can get a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry and never need a loaner but at MB, most dealers make sure you get the loaner experience.
