please help identify missing part in engine bay
so anyways i got a 2006 w203 c230 sport 2.5l v6 petrol recently..
as i have been noticing some fuel smells, i suspected a possible cause is the missing foam piece which seems to seal off the cabin air filter section when closed and pressed against the bonnet cover (hope this makes sense)
also good to note that the hood insulation cover is warped... so towards the bottom is no longer clipped onto the bonnet... possibly making a 'tighter seal' impossible.
okay anyway.. i have attached 2 photos... note my vehicle is a right hand drive which would explain why the 2 photos look different. one photo of engine bay i got off google.. and the other is mine... the one with 2 red circles.
good example here.. the piece my car seems to be missing is this foam that seals off the cabin air filter....
as you can see on my car.. the foam is missing!! one of the workshops fashioned a make shift foam piece.. but i don't think it does the job as well... secondly.. anyone know where to get a replacement star on my lower engine cover?

anyone know's the part numbers i need? any help appreciated...
lastly, i also notice some fuel smell occasionally.. i suspect it comes from the air con units? which is why i'm trying to seal it off properly.. also trying to order in a replacement hood insulation...
sorry for the long and probably confusing post!

Regarding your foam, I respectfully suggest you may be ignoring the main cause of your fuel smell; namely what is causing any fuel smell. While most cars have a 'car' smell there shouldn't be a fuel smell at all. Something in your fuel system or exhaust may be leaking.
i saw some hood insulation on sale with the metal plating to prevent warping... just thought it would help that's all.. cheers!
