Secondary air pump problems
I've searched and came up with fragmented info on my issue. I'm having a code and the air pump is loud for the first minute it's on. I looked at the reeds and they were dark with carbon, but functional. Can I get some info on full checks of the pump and system and some repair options? I'm not replacing it if it is repairable.

Well whats the code? Its a very simple system, are you able to activate the system with an sds or scanner? If there is a bunch of air blowing out of it then that part should be functional. Need more details

The code is the secondary air pump code. That's how I know it's the pump. P0410. The only indiction of its failure is the code and it's very loud and rumbly when first started for a minute until it cuts off. That's why I'm looking for diagnostic procedures.

That code isnt specifically for the pump. You could have a loud noisy pump that is still putting out proper amount of air. If there isnt any vacuum to diverter valves you could get the code. You could get the code if the ports are clogged and not enough air gets into exhaust. You could have some lazy o2 sensors that dont drop down to specified value.
