SRS error message help needed

I just got done partially tearing apart my dash to replace one of the dreaded broken linkages on the climate control servos. After putting everything back together, I am getting a service SRS message on the dash.

I suspect that I might not have reconnected one of the harnesses to the back of the panel that has the seat warmer, hazard light, door lock switches. There are 4 places to plug in harnesses. I have 2 plugged in & 2 empty. I know at least 1 socket was empty, but don't remember if 2 sockets were empty.

Can someone confirm how many of those sockets should be occupied?

I don't want to tear the dash apart to look for a wire harness that isn't there.

Looks like 2 connectors get plugged in. The large one is apparently all of the control switches. The small (6 pin) connector is the ABS (SRS) connector.

I watched this video on YouTube and found the answer in the video at 5:00.

Did you disconnect the battery while you did this? If not you would have tripped the SRS light if there was power going to any of the airbag modules. If that's the case you would need a STAR tool to reset it. If you go to an indy they'd probably charge you about $50 to reset the light.

Battery was connected, so that is probably it. Guess I'll live with it for now. I am not paying $50 turn turn it off.

When and if you decide to turn it off just don't go to the dealer as it'll probably be double that or they may even ask you for "diagnostic time" which will be closer to $200.......

Thanks for the input Icebreaker.

Is the a "home version" of the STAR tool? I have a Vag-Com for VW.

The indy I went to had an AllData software that can reset ABS and SRS that home diagnostic tool cannot. I have a home tool that can reset OBD functions only (clear the codes).

I'm afraid not or I would have bought it definitely. I have a scanner but it doesn't do SRS or ABS diagnostic or reset.
