Terrible c230!

Bought a 2005 c230 4 door sedan from auto auction to resell. I have done a countless amount of work to this car .Currently I am stuck on a timing chain issue. Car was overheating and mixing coolant+oil . I assumed it was head a gasket issue and pulled the entire motor out of the car. I figured I do so because car has 150,000 miles on it I do pan, main seals etc. Upon taking the head off i noticed somebody had been in there before. Top of head had a good scuffing to the surface . I polished the block and head with 2000 grit sandpaper, installed new head gasket. Next step was to get the timing, cams, etc done .I bought a new IWIS timing chain from ebay+OEM tensioner . Opened the valve cover and seen there was slack between the two cams . Also trying to line up TDC at the bottum crank , I noted it spun from it TDC mark about 160 degrees .. No big deal I marked TDC on crank. Used a screw driver in the hole of the first piston for a second reference .I set the upper cams to the arrows on the cam housing. Noted the top guide was a little worn ,but didnt replace any guides . Sealed everything back up and started it up . Car started right up and has a groaning/knock noise . No way valves could be hitting anything I hand spun the crank, after timing it . Other than the noise car seems to Rev up and etc very healthy . Seems to almost disapear at idle but can hear the noise get louder if you rev it up ..

I use WIS and ALLDATA for anything I need to assemble. I used alldata to for this paticular car .
Boggling my mind as to what it can be ! Can really use anyones advice
