Hit a pot hole, misfire and check engine light came on
So, no problems with the car thus far (although my wife thinks it shudders between 1 and 5 mph). I'm driving up an interstate on ramp, hit a pot hole and all of a sudden the check engine light comes on and the car starts shuddering. At speed it drove fine all the way home, but when I slowed to a traffic stop it was idling really rough in drive, rough but not as bad in neutral. I stop at the auto parts store to get the code ran, misfire on cal 3 and 4, so they say. We had gotten an hour prior to the incident so I checked the gas cap (it was tight) and fired her up. No shudder on the restart, no problems the whole ride home, I'm befuddled.
I got spark plugs thinking thats the first place to start but now I'm considering just pulling the negative on the battery to reset the CEL and watching for it to pop back on, if it does. Any ideas?

Update: Since the car was acting normal the wife drove it to work. She had to slam on the brakes and shoot into another lane to avoid an accident, when she did that the shudder started again.
The pot hole and the hard brake/swerve make me think it could be a loose spark plug wire.
I disconnected the battery but wasn't able to get the CEL off.

Check the TPS harness
Just hav a tought ...just get in the hood n go straight to the TPS sensor harness which will be located next to MAF sensor ..remove the battery negative terminal as usual n remove the harness from throttle sensor n clean it with some electric contact cleaner n socket it back firmly and reconnect the battery n give life to the engine see for any decent behaviour !! Gud luck
