help me out guys...service info

ok heres the deal...i took my 03 230 coupe in because the rear end was makin a weird noise like grinding and it would stutter under light to moderate acceleration...so they found out it was the tranny valve body which is basically the brain of the tranny...all is well so far...a while back i was drivin on the highway and sumtin got caught under my car and broke off a little piece of the plastic covering under the drivers side...now the service rep is tellin me i damaged a purge line that runs from the purge valve to the back of the car and gives and takes signals to and from the computer in the rear...the line is not covered under warranty since i broke the piece and the piece itself is 150 which is not bad...but he said they have never done this procedure b4 and it could take from 3-15 hours!!! worst case scenario it could cost me about 1700 bucks...wut should i do?? take the car back and tell him to leave it the way it is?? please help guys any input is greatly appreciated

Sounds like BS to me. They have books that'll tell them step by step and how many hours to charge. Go to another and get a second opinion.
