![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I purchased my '01 C320 used from the private party. The original owner did not have the radio code card.
Dealer said, it will be an expensive proposition to determine the radio code, requiring some instrumentation etc.
It is the original radio, that came w/ the car and I have the radio's serial number.
Any suggestions how to get the code? (w/o spending a fortune at the dealer's).

The secret code is "swordfish".
Maybe you asked the dealer the wrong question and he gave you the right answer but not for the question you just asked. Many MB's have radio codes but not the W203. I know, I have removed my radio several times, installed other MB radios without every knowing any codes.

Thank you all for the replies.
I have a copy of the VMI, that gives me the radio serial No, but the Radio Code space is blank.
I guess I don't have to worry about this in case of the battery disconnect.
Thanks again
