2002 c240 with Bose system.

Radio works
Tape works
CD Changer is NOT recognized at all

I want to keep the stock system.
Only problem is that when i turn the volume up past a certain point I lose ALL audio. Stereo still on and does everything EXCEPT make noise.

I don't want to throw a bunch of money at it and not solve the problem.

Seems to me that since the headunit is not recognizing the CD changer at all and when I turn it up I get an audio cutout that only return when i power the head off then on again that my first shot in the dark would be the head unit.

Stereo will play indefinitely and the "correct" volume.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated....

Oh yeah - CD changer is on and ejects magazine and sounds to be cycling through the correct cycles when the magazine is inserted....
