Spare Key Fob Not working
Hello guys I have a c200 CDI 02. My original key is working perfectly but my spare key doesn't work. O cant unlock, lock, or turn on engine the EIS doesn't recognize it. Can someone please tell me how can i reprogram my spare key to work. The blade key on the spare unlocks and locks the door but the Fob doesn't. A friend told me that can be programmed in 10-15 min with the IR sensor or something like that im not sure help pls!

Plutoe, he says cannot unlock the car and cannot start as well.
I would guess the key has sustained water damage or some other type of damage.
(Assuming it is the original key to this car in the first place)
I'd remove the main board (search on youtube e.g. "mercedes key new shell change") and check it for damage signs.

I have a similar problem. I have a 2010 GL450 with the triangular red panic button on key fob (single cr 2025 battery.) Do not have keyless start feature. My daily use fob went dead. Changed battery. No response from vehicle. Red light flashes on fob and I checked batt with a voltage meter so I know that new battery is good. I will use mechanical key to open door and see if fob starts car. Will that reprogram key?

Update--used mechanical key to open door. alarm went off. inserted key fob into ignition and started car. turned off car. key fob with new battery now works again. I guess after a total dead key fob battery you need to insert it into ignition to remarry it to vehicle?
