Diagnosis Help Please!
Happy day everyone,
So I took my car to Firestone to get new tires and they called me to tell me I needed new engine filter and air cabin filer , brake fluids and an alignment. I said yes to have them do it all. A day after getting my car back, the check engine light came on and when I go to give it gas it is sluggish on the acceleration. I had no problems and no check engine light prior to having them do the mentioned work. Could they have knocked something lose? what would be the reason way this is happening? Again, my car is hesitating to pick up when I push down on the pedal, it drive slows but after a few mins will pick up....

Get the codes scanned at Autozone. Maybe it's just a coincidence...
Since they replaced the engine filter, might be something with the MAF (mass airflow sensor).

Just got a call from Firestone and they are saying that it has nothing to do with what they did and that 8 to 9 codes are coming up including the transmission! The transmission was done by aamco a year ago! I called guy at aamco and he is saying that is does not sound like the transmission because the car would be jerking , it sounds like engine .

They'll all point fingers at each other unless you get a good independent evaluation of the problem. You shouldn't be surprised that Firestone is deflecting blame.
Find a good independent shop that's local and have them evaluate everything, if you can't do any of that yourself. Otherwise, you're just going to keep on throwing good money after bad. And for the love of all that is holy, avoid these chain places like the plague for anything other than tires.
