so my car started making this really loud clicking/banging noise today. So i got home as fast as i could to take a look at what was causing it. The noise is coming from the driver's side engine bay. Upon inspection and trying to hear where the noise is coming from, i noticed that my AC compressor pulley is wobbling! so identifying the issue wasn't much of a problem. I need my car to be running ASAP and so I know i can just bypass the compressor with a shorter belt; my issue is that I don't know what length belt to get. I know there is a sticky with emergency ac bypass, but that is for the 2005 w203; i have the 06 sport with the 2.5L engine (not the same as the one in the 05 model). Can anybody steer me in the right direction? i found some tech tip site saying 20 x 2330 to 2340 mm (6pk2240 bando belt); but i am just not sure if it is the one for the m272 2.5 engine. Any input will be much appreciated!

Can you get in there with a ruler? If so, might be able to measure the direct distance vs the current "two halves" to and from the AC pulley, and subtract the difference from the current belt length. Also perhaps Autozone has belts of various lenghts that they may let you try on? Good luck!

Did you ever find what size belt you needed? I am in desperate need of the belt to bypass my AC and I'm currently stuck searching for belt sizes and part numbers for them. Many thanks in advance
