New member shopping for a C280
Hi all, enjoying all the great info and discussions here. I'm in the market for a good used Mercedes and have narrowed it down a bit to a 2007ish C series - have my eye on a 2007 C280 4 Matic I'm hoping to look at this weekend.
I've read up on the balance shaft issues to include checking the VIN and engine serial number against the service bulletin, was hoping to get some verification from those more familiar. The VIN I'm looking at is WDBRF92H87F929260, my research tells me this engine is later than those with the issue and it shouldn't be a concern - can someone confirm I'm looking at the right info?
I'm reading all the old threads I can find but would welcome any other feedback on this model. This car has about 90k miles on it now, my planned use is daily driver so I'd hope I could count on another 100k if I stay ahead of the maintenance.
