Mechanic threw in the towel, can we fix this!?
Let's start w/ the mechanic's response. "You have around 15 codes in this engine including 4 misfire codes.(p0238 is the one I was focused on[Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit High]. Looks like probably valve cover gasket leaking oil into plug tubes."
My response: "I had the timing chain replaced last year and the gaskets were replaced to access the chain." His response: "Then you should take it to him. I will put it back together and put it outside."
Problem: Throttle response is HORRIBLE and at idle the RPM's fluctuate b/w 600-1000. I cleaned the throttle body, reset the throttle, checked lines for air, no MAF sensor code, no vacuum or air leaks (actually, the mechanic said the only leak was at the throttle body b/c the bolts were loose from where I cleaned it)
The head guy said my car's basically screwed and will leave me stranded somewhere. I'd like to think we can fix this, but I'm at a loss as to where to go from here???

you need to get a star scan and look at the codes. It could be one little thing or the car could be trash. It is hard to say with the description above.
