Can an INDY do the recall for the $12 hose?

Can an INDY do the recall for the $12 hose?
They sent me a quote for $900 for the $12 vent hose (crankshaft). Do I need to take this to Mercedes and have it done or can they do the work without charging me?

well if MB wants $900 I would say you are going to have to pay. I would check the time limit on the recall and fight it if need be.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The indy quoted me $900, then I found out there's a recall/campaign for it. So can I tell the indy there's a recall and have him do it without charging me?

Yes. They give free loaners, coffee, and donuts too.
Dealers do it because they pass all of their costs (and I'm sure a bump up too) on to Corporate. It's free money to them, which is why they're so happy to handle recalls. Just call a dealer, and they'll be happy to fix it for you if you're in under the recall. If not, might as well get an estimate too to see if the $900 is legit.
