A different Fuel Gauge problem

List, I know other people have experienced problems when filling the Coupe with gas, but I have not experienced that specific problem. The problem I have had twice this month (this is the first month of ownership) is with the gauge displaying empty while driving.

I am driving the car on 1/2 to 2/3rds of fuel when suddenly I am warned no fuel is in the car. The first time this happened I was able to pull over, turn the car off and on, and it was back to normal. This weekend it happened and did not go back until the next day.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

thanks

Nathan

I've had and still have this problem. It's been in 2x w/o resolution. So far, they've replaced 2 fuel pumps, thinking the floats were not working properly. I'm currently waiting for some parts from Germany so the dealer can attach a different kind of pump. We'll see if it works.

I had that problem with my old VW. They finally figured out it was a loose wire somewhere (I think, I really don't remember though, but it was fixed). Given that MB techs are better trained than VW techs, I would think they will figure it out eventually. Sorry you having problems.

Exclamation UNBELIEVABLE!

Yes.... oh man. It's the fuel level sensor! These damn things have been faulty in all W202's, beginning in 94, all W124s back to 1986, all W210s, and all MLs! It's the fuel level sensor! Geez, I thought they were supposed to have fixed the d@mn problem by now!!
