C220 fuel consumption ?
Dear all,
I have this C220 2003 143ps Classic I just bought it few weeks ago. I have been reading on internet that it should not be bad on fuel but mine tells me otherwise
I mostly drive city roads stop/go kindda no open road very rarely but in the odometer shows the lowest 7.5 to 11.4 sometimes even over 12 l/km, and only little over 600km total after full tank reset.
I dont know if these figures are normal at all but from what i can read there's something wrong with mine.
Vehicle has been serviced with oil and all filters as well as auto box.
I was wondering if it could be something i can do to have better numbers.
I know i have to change the thermostat coz it want reach 80 even in a traffic jam (that it going to be done today)
Is there anything else i need to look, coz this thing has started burning my wallet already.
Thanks
GjB

Hi! I previously had 2003 c220cdi. City consumption was 7-10 l/100km depending on drive style, highway about 4.5 using cruise at 120-130 km/h (everything is based on what bc is showing).

I was driving in C-mode now i switched to S-mode and it looks that is less thirsty.
Any idea how can i get that 4.5 of yours in mine?

Mine had 6 speed manual transmission. As far as I know, gear ratio for 6 speed in manual is different from 5th in automatic. This is one of the reasons.
