C220CDI (W203)
Intermittent boot/trunk issue

I recently purchased a C220CDI which has an intermittent opening and closing issue with the boot/trunk. When closing the boot it can take 4 or 5 decent slams to ensure that it is locked down and occasionally the boot stops opening when using the key fob or button on the drivers door. When trying to open you can still hear a click when clicking the fob button but the lid does not pop open. To open it I use the key and handle, then it will work fine for a few weeks before doing it again. It always take a few slams to close it even when the remote opening is working fine.

I've done quite a bit of research and see that they can have issues with the actuator but I'm a little confused as to would this also stop the boot/trunk lid from locking down when closing or would it be the actual locking mechanism? I appreciate any help you guys can offer.
