C240 Boiling

Hi There
I need to know what the hole on the left side of the reservoir is for?
Every time i switch off my car water boils out here!
i replaced the M.A.F, the aux motor next to the reservoir and the crank shaft sensor and still my car overheats, and there is no oil in the water. Cars temperature is normal when driving.
anyone?
