New springs

I was looking for the parts number according to color dots on the springs . Mine has two yellow dots + 1 white . According to a webpage I found , that is 203 321 4904. Is that correct ? I am not sure if it is different for prefacelift and facelift ? I have the 2000/2001 prefacelift Avantgarde . So I think I should have sport shocks and springs ? The shocks are Sachs .

Is there any place to confirm this ? And how do I know how long the springs have to be? I see they go from around 380mm to 430mm. In norway the parts are usually expensive , so I was thinking of ordering parts from Germany . How are makes like mapco , ABS , NK, TRW etc. ? I also need new stabilizer bars /link arms /chicken legs outer back . Are these stronger as well on the Avantgarde version ?

This should help :
http://www.mbpartsworld.com/showAsse...roduct=7780784

To use the information, first find your springs colour code, then use the list of springs to find your spring e.g. three yellow dots and one white or two red dots etc, the part number is on the far right, and by pressing the 'more details' button its relative information and fitting e.g. for cars with 486 sports suspension.

Thanks . But where can I see what is sport suspension/springs ? I asked my dealer , which seemed to be surprised that I had 2 yellow + 1white . When running my license plate , he said I should have 2 red + 1 yellow . Then I asked a mercedes store , and he said I should have had 2 red + 1 white . . . Haha .

In the end I guess it doesn't matter that much , I just need some cheap usable springs , but I was curious if I had the sport suspension , and how many other parts that are sport parts . My front shocks are sachs part number 203 320 19 30. I was told when I bought the car it had original sport suspension from mercedes. (It is also a little bit lower in front than other ones I think . So I do not want longer springs that will raise my car up either , or make it softer .

Is the sport suspension a special package , that has nothing to do with Avantgarde ? So Avantgarde is only looks , and is as soft to drive as a classic /elegance , as long as you do not pay for the extra sport package ?

You should get a VIN decode and see what features your car has.
If you still have the service booklet the codes are listed in the back.
