So I have recently been wanting to upgrade my interior trim to the aluminum one as it just looks better and my wood trim has been cracking (its a 2001 c240) and it is old. I replaced the interior center console trim but I have had no success removing the door trim. I remove the door panel but I have been stuck on the problem of how to remove the little clips that hold the trim in place. I have looked on every thread for how to remove it and all I read was someone saying how annoying it is to remove these.

Pry the prongs on the round retainers away from the shaft and the they should get off. They kinda bite into the shaft and that's what holds them in place.
