SEALING vs. Replacing infamous fuel filler neck on '05's.
Well, just got a smoke test done to reveal a pinhole sized leak in the filler neck. I know this is wayyyy too common on these 2005's...
But why spend $2-400 on the part alone instead of just using a high quality sealant to seal the hole? I'm not trying to be cheap here... but it seems silly to me to replace a $400 piece of plastic that could just be potentially patched and sealed.
Thoughts?

I should be upfront and honest and say that I'm referring to JB Weld, which many people have used on gas tanks and what not. Can't see why this wouldn't work...

Many have tried...apparently the plastics used on the filler neck don't go well with adhesives, ends up leaking again...had to do this a while back, painful to shell out $$$ for a friggin leak the size of a gnat's ***...

Interesting... I wonder what they're prep work was, it's too important when you're trying the JB Weld life lol. Where'd you source your neck from? MB wants about $500 for it.

And does the leak occur in a common area? If so, I'll reinforce the sh*t out of it and make sure that nothing can ever leak from it again 😂
