Every one wanted to race the C230....
Hi guy's.. Last night and tonight it felt like every id!ot on the road wanted to race me. last night i wasn't feeling that great so every challange i had from Honda owners i ignored. There must have been like 5 civics Friday night wanted to test me. But tonight i smoked a Acura Integra Type-R on the highway..This was the older integra.. I was coming home from downtown when these head lights started to high beam me so i down shift to 3rd and pulled to the next lane when this guy in a white Acura integra type-R tryed to blow buy me. So i floor it on 3rd gear and before you know it i was doing 210 km/h and the integra was about 3 to 4 car lenghts behind me. Damn this thing fly's over 100km.. I honestly didn't realize i was going that fast before i looked up at the speedo to see 210 flashing at me.
This guy had a Greedy exhaust.. I know because of all the stickers on his car.. I don't know what else he had but those stickers on his car didn't help him Much. I know i shouldn't have pushed the C230 that Hard with only 700km on it but i couldn't Help it.

i am skeptical of all type r stories, especially ones where there was no good lookover of the car. There are so many rebadges ls/gs/gsr integras masquerading around as type R its so sad. And the addition of stickers.... makes me think Integra LS.
the few type Rs i have actually seen (albeit in philly and new york) are all very clean, near stock looking. All the fake type Rs are sticker ******.
good kill, whatever it was

You might be right greg230.. But as he was going by, all i could see on the side of his car was the Type-R sticker and a greedy exhaust sticker on his bumper above his exhaust. You never know what your racing these days?? You have to becarefull because some of these guy's could spray you.. Nitrous that is...

mom and pop are more willing to give jimmy 50 bucks for some type R and "got nos" stickers for his LS then they are to put him behind the wheels of a real type R, or give em NOS.
The more stickers a car has, the less likely it is to have the aforementioned parts.
I see a dozen integras and RSXs with "powered by Acura" seatbelt covers.... does acura really power anything???? it should read "marketed by acura"
hell i saw a civic in the parking lot of the shop i got my lights installed at.... it had Tubi and AC schnitzer stickers on it. Nevermind the fact that a tubi exhaust can cost about a third of civic DX.... and they dont make anything for a honda

the only sure way to tell a type-R is the wheels. only the type-r's have five lug wheels. the stock wheels are white spoke style. other than that i wouldn't be able to tell.

I had the same problem here in Daytona, spring break, audio show, car show. I could not even go to the store without someone that wanted to try out my Coupe. I like auto-x and not much for drag racing, BUT, temtation got the best of me. Two Civic, one BMW and one Integra. Beat them all, mine you I only went up to about 70 mph, did not want to push my luck. You hit the gears just right and the Coupe can fly. I want to bo after the BMW at an auto-x and see how many I can beat. Years ago had 240 Z and went after Porsche. Won year end awards in my class. So will let you all know how I do. You all can take care of the drags and renncpe had a good start.

I agree with greg that it is very highly that it was not a type R. Im pretty sure the type R can hang with the 230.
In regards to the "powered by Acura" stickers. Its funny, cuz i swear that its a HONDA engine in there....hahha. POWERED BY HONDA would make more sense.

Hi JoReL.. It was a white integra.. It had the low rear spoiler on it but couldn't tell what kind of wheels where on his car. Do you guy's think it might have been a V-Tech integra posing as a Type-R?? It was a sweet looking car.. It had no spoiler kit on it except for the low wing. But that doesn't matter... The track is opening in few weeks, i'll see what i can hang with and what not at the track.. So far i have raced no one off the line.. integra was my first encounter. I just hope they will have the K&N filter out for the benz in Calgary before the track opens. I can use any help i can get..

hmmm, white integra, with a small wing (about 2-3 inches from the deck lid) thats a GS/GSR from 99-01. if i remember correctly the type R came in white only 1 year (my98), and it had a big spoiler, 5-6 inches off deck lid) All R's had the big spoiler, but i think white was only 1 year.
did the spolier look like this (type R):
or like this (gsr):

I wisely decide not to race the Supra that came up next to me on the way to church this morning. I know the car, and he has beaten several motorcycles. Not like Harleys-but sportbikes like my friends ZX9. He has the boost turned way up on it, and he does go through transmissions on a regular basis, but the car is amazingly fast (but not too reliable). Plus, I was on the way to church. It just didn't seem right. On the way home, a kid in a S-10 with a coffee can exhaust wanted to race. Church was over.

Hi greg230. The car looked similar to the yellow one but it was in white. His exhaust was bigger but i can't remmember if the wing was about the same hight . Things happens so fast when your going at those speeds it is really hard to tell a GSR from a type-r because i am not fimiliar with these cars.. He had the Greedy exhaust sticker above the rear bumber and had the same type-r badges as the yellow one did.
Hey JoReL.. I been racing for the past 16 years at the tracks.. So it too late for being addicted for racing, because i allready am.. I allways had Mustangs with superchargers putting out over 400 Hp and 11 sec ET's at the track. So when it comes to Acuras, Integras, Hondas i am not that fimiliar with them because i never raced them before so this is new to me. I guess i have to get use to it since i don't have my S/C Stangs any more

This one is sick. He started side by side with my friend on his ZX9, and they both took off at about 60mph on the interstate. The ZX9 pulled him initially, but the Supra just went past him like his bike wasn't running on all cylinders, and then just flat left him in the dust. This bike had head work, carbs, exhaust, etc. topped out at 186mph. The ZX9 won pretty easily from a standing start to about 100, but after that, it was all over.

I own a Type-R and my GF owns a C230K.
I drive BOTH on a regular basis.
I GUARANTEE that stock for stock, the Type-R is MUCH MUCH faster than the C230K.
The Type-R pulls high 14's stock in the 1/4 mile, the C230K pulls mid to high 15's stock. A difference of AT LEAST 0.7 seconds in the 1/4 mile (which is a HUGE difference).
There's NO C230K that can pull a 14 second 1/4 mile stock.
Maybe the guy didn't know how to drive...most likely it was just a base Integra with Type-R stickers on it. There are a ton of those fools around.
The Type-R is faster at higher speeds as well. It has very short gearing and reaches it's 143MPH top speed very quickly.

You don't just buy the JDM Headlights, you have to buy a whole Japanese Type-R front end which includes, Front fenders, Hood headlights, bumper and radiator support. It comes as a kit from most places.
Instead, I put the money into a Turbo Kit. I figured that'd be cooler than a Japanese front end.

"Are you sure your friend with the Zx9 went all out?? " Everything this guy does is all out. Here's a picture of him on that ZX9 doing a standup wheelie at 120mph on the interstate.
