Poor man HIDs?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone switched out there standard halogen bulbs for the blue type?

Also, can you just through in Xenon replacement bulbs with the same wattage?

Are you talking about those halogen bulbs that are tinted blue, meaning they are the same brightness, just blue? No offense to anyone out there, but the blue halogen lights I see out there look ridiculous. They scream rice-boy and poser. True, you can't get them for the coupe as OEM parts, but then why bother with fakes? While HID lights serve the dual purpose of increased vision and aesthetics, the blue lights are barely pleasing to the eye.

Are those whiter than the OEM bulbs that came with the Coupe?

I don't really care to get the bluish bulbs but interested if I can get something whiter (higher k)

thanks

The Phillips Vision Plus I put in are very noticibly whiter and brighter. They are available at the website below for about $25 a pair. I overpaid at autolamps-online for $40.

The VisionPlus's were reivewed and were one of a few bulbs that actually increased light output and had good light patterns. I think that would be the perfect bulb for you. (like Buellwinkle said).

He means Higher K as in higher in the light spectrum=whiter and brighter than sunlight.

Not so fast, just because it is a higher Kelvin value do not always mean its brighter , only whiter.

Yes I followed Timmy's Light FAQ to change the bulb

Definately informative.
Fogs seem to be a bit harder to install.

They are very difficult to install, it took me 2 1/2 hours. The drivers side bulb would not come out and it's difficult to get pliers in there. Then I couldn't get the new bulb to lock in position. Finally I got channel locks in there and forced it in. It may be quicker to take the wheel and inner fender panel off so you have leverage, specially on the driver's side. I hope the new bulbs last because I don't want to do that again. On my wife's Honda it took all of 10 minutes.

2.5 hours?
Ironically it takes 5 minutes or less to remove the inner fend panel (just 3-4 bolts plus a plastic tab)

I had to remove it cause I dropped the side marker wire and bulb into the fender hole while I was painting the side markers.

I can't imagine the fogs to take over 10 minutes total.

Those "Super White" H7 bulbs I got is not brighter then the OEM one, but it looks more whiter than before; however, the Bosch 9006 Fog light are much brighter then the OEM fog light. Now I have not so bright head lights but brighter fog lights, which can still give me a clear vision in most of the conditions.

Yeah the fist time I changed the fog lights it took about 1.5 hours. Then after I got another set of fog lights (different bulbs) it only took about 10 minutes for both sides. Then aftr the wreck i changed them out again with no probs. It i much easier if you can actually see it done. Since I had that wreck the, bulbs were screwwed I had to put new ones back in. the low/high beams an fogs took less than 20 minutes to install.

I have Philips BlueVision all around and I am quite happy with them. They are way more white than stock, look more appropriate for the car and deliver the same amazing amount of light as the stock lights.
