If so, by how much? As I have not been able to test drive one with sports package, any input from those who have with regards to improved handling and ride height will be appreciated.

supposedly it is lower, but boy, it must be a very small amount. Its hard to even notice. Maybe a quarter inch?

Page 380 of the 2002 C Class Operators Manual shows the height of the C32 AMG a whopping 3mm lower than the C320/240. Consequently, the Sports Package may lower the C320/240 anywhere between 0-3mm.
