Where is the Fuel Door lock actuator?

I have a 2006 C280 4matic and the fuel door is locked. I replaced the fuse and still not working. I can't see or feel anything behind the metal panel that would be the part that operates the lock(or the actuator). can't find anything online after searching for an hour..how do you remove this or replace it? Could it be something other than the actuator? Also, owners manual shows the emergency release but there is nothing like it in the trunk after removing the panel cover.

There should be a release. It's hard to find but it feels like a key. Feel for it behind the trunk trim. Turn the key several full revolutions (I forget which direction) and eventually the locking bar should recess.

I'm assuming your car has the same release mechanism as the pre-facelift (2002-2004) models.

W203 Fuel flap actuator removal

W203 Fuel flap actuator removal:

The actuator is secured by 2 T20 torx screws. It is accessed by removing the trunk/boot trim on the right hand side.
Just loosen the screws and the actuator will be simply teased out...very easy to do.
In my case, I had to remove it because the locking pin somehow separated from the actuator motor. The fuel flap wasn't locking or unlocking.
I removed the actuator, reattached the pin (simple twist-lock mechanism) and everything works just fine.

I had the same problem. Went to the gas station prepaid my gas and went to a locked filler flap. After trying several times had to embarrassingly asked for my money back...lol. Had enough gas to get to my destination but knew I couldn’t make it home. After searching & stressing saw the 2 screws to loosen. Like magic it released the flap. I ordered a new filler flap actuator ( which just arrived). Now I will try to install it). Wish me luck. I’ll post how it went.
