C230 Coupe Rear head rests

Is there any way to retrofit the headrest release mechanism found in the sedan into the coupe? Its one really nice feature in the sedan I didn't see in the coupe.

Interesting question... I'm not sure if the seatbacks (and seat bottoms) in the Coupe are really the same seats as in the C3 package in the sedan (The sedan C3 package is the fold-down rear seats, which would match the same functionality in the Coupe.)

I ask this because the rear seats in the C7 package include the pass-through/ski sack assembly, and I don't believe the standard Coupe seats have this feature (or the fold down armrest, for that matter.)

Do the Coupe rear seat bottoms flip up and forward when folding the seatbacks (as in C3), or are the seat bottoms fixed in place?

Is there a third, centered headrest in the Coupe like there is in the Sedan?

I still haven't figured out whether the remote folding headrests are a mechanical function or electric/mechanical.

Sorry, not much help. Except to say that if the seats are the same, there might be a possibility of making the flip down headrests work on the Coupe. But if the seats are different, my guess would be no.

The Coupe's seats can be lowered two ways.

1. Just lower the seat backs (best if you are accessing inside from trunk).
2. Raise seat bottoms and then lower seat backs (for a truly flat storage area)

Personally, I really like having that choice of options.

The C7 package on the coupe contains a pass-through?

No, MB-BOB's been smoking those funny cigarettes again. Maybe he's referring to a pass-through on his c320, and got his signals crossed?

I've been on hold with the state of Virginia for 20 minutes now - these tax departments are less staffed than MB dealers' parts departments.

There's no third headrest, so I'd think that the ccoupe and c sedans are mutually exclusive.

I wouldn't expect to be able to plug and play the seats, but the headrests are the same. So, my question is, since the all flip down, can I install the neat little dash button and some components into the seat to enable remote flip down of the headrests?

UM...:o :o Like, OK, so I meant to write C3 package (not C7). I was so excited to contribute to a question regarding the SEDAN for a change...

Hey, Cheech, pass the doobie, man...
