2005 C230 and 2015 slk250
new fuel pump
I have a 2005 C230 that ran great until one day it would not start. I had it towed to the dealer and they replaced both parts of the fuel pump. Cost me about $1500. Now my car idiles rough and sounds like it is going to stall when i stop at lights. Car sounds horrible and dealer keeps giving me all kinds of excuses. Does anybody think maybe the job was not done correctly?

if they only worked in the back where the pump is maybe there is air in the fuel lines? do you smell gas? hose clamps, seals. or a weird coincidence and there's some spark plug(s), coil(s) faulty. there are quite a few things causing a rough idle.

simply changing the fuel pump should not have caused any additional problems. Even air in the lines will get purged out when when the fuel pump turns on and pressurizes the lines. Did they change the fuel filter as well? This is where thepressure regulation is. There must be something else going on. Is the check engine light on? Where any engine codes read?
