Air conditioning and wiper, horn, cig lighter issues
Little over a month ago, I had issues with my blower motor and very recently I fixed it and still it was not blowing cold air.
I tried to refill, but when connected to lower pressure valve, the needle in the pressure gauge measured beyond red mark. It was like overfilled. I still cannot figure out if my ac clutch is engaging or not (assuming it has one). I am just stuck with this car blowing hot air in summer and it's making me crazy
Has this happened with anyone else?
Another issue is, all of a sudden the horn, wiper and cig lighter went out. It works for about a min occasionally and then just stops working. The wiper washer liquid does spray on the windshield but the wipers do not move an inch. I read it can be a relay (15R) issue, but not sure if I am headed the right direction.
"These cars have a sensor on one of the bonnet locks, if the bonnet is not locked or "locked" with bonnet open, then wipers and windows washing pump will not work.
In this case the windows washer pump did work when the bonnet lock was closed, but the wipers did not. There is a relay N10/1kM which gives 12v to Circuit 15R. The relay is controlled by the front SAM. The relay has 12v only when the ignition is on, but it is the SAM which decides when the relay is opened.
Circuit 15R provides 12v to several, amongst the relays N10/1kL and N10/1kQ which are the relays actuated by the SAM to control the wipers. Also 15R provides 12v to the child recognition sensor, SRS module, glove box light, cigarette plug and light, and the signal horn.
If all of these does not work probably the relay 15R (N10/1kM) have to be changed. The relay can easily be tested.
If a simultaneous error occur with both wipers and SRS involved, chances are that its relay N10/1kM (Relay 15R).
If windows washer pumps etc does not work, or if only parts of the wipers speeds works, then it is not a problem with relay 15R, (could be the column switch then)
Of course fuses have to be checked etc.
I have read quite many stories about SRS and wiper faults occuring at the same time and it is a pleasure to say that its down to relay 15 failing (and not SAM)"
