Serpentine Belt Tensioner Question
The tensioner bearing is making some noise.
On some tensioners, it's possible to replace just the bearing, re-using the pulley and tensioner assembly.
On others, the pulley with bearing are available.
Anyone manage to just renew the bearing or pulley (since the tensioner complete is pricey and at 87k miles the original is fine but for the bearing.
Usually there is a sealed ball bearing assy inside the pulley. Never found loose ball bearings.
If you're attempting to be humorous about my frugality, a $15 bearing beats a $75 assembly when the only problem is the bearing. Kinda' like only replacing the tire when it wears out vs buying a new mounted tire and wheel assembly.
But I suppose there are people who do that?
I can't understand some people's mentality in this forum.
If you have no clue to what is being inquired by a member, just shut up and pass on, instead of making rude remarks.
Shan.
