A c class c 180, 2001 model refused to suck the key. But the key can lock and unlock the car. what could be the problem

If you do not have any scan tool to diagnose the car you can only check the basics. Make sure it is not just a low battery, you can use jumper cables to be sure. There should be a fuse for the ESL "electronic steering lock" if the fuse is blown, try to replace it and see if the steering will unlock or if the key will turn in the EIS. It is still possible that the Key has a problem so the next basic thing to do is try another "known good" spare key for your car. If you do not have a spare key then this is not possible without ordering a new "programed key" from the dealer. I would not recommend for you to try and replace parts without diagnosis. You will need Star Diagnosis to remove the transport protection and perform identification of either the EIS or ESL if they are replaced.
