Curious Comparisons
Just came from the Edmund's forum, scratching my head once again. I've been reading the Lexus LS page - my wife is trading in her 400 for a 430 this weekend - and one of the members was explaining how the LS fit the bill for him much better than the C. This is about third comparison of these two cars I've read in the last six months or so, and I still don't understand it. I've got a C240, and it ain't an LS. But then again, I don't want it to be. It's a small, fun, sharp, sporty, classy, head-turning 4-door sedan (but really, don't put me in the backseat, please.). The LS is a large, elegant, 4-door town car, basically - incredible, yes, but a totally different automobile than the C. Wouldn't a comparison to an S (or even E) be more sensible/favorable? I mean, the car costs 20 to 40k more! Maybe these people feel they have to justify the purchase for some reason. Just ranting...

unusual comparisons
Well, Young recently compared the C Class to the Chevrolet Avalanche.
You're right, comparing the LS430 to a C is odd - sort of like comparing a Land Rover to a Lada Niva (I'll take the Niva, BTW).

Even car mags sometimes do strange comparation tests. In one number of AMS (Auto Motor & Sport) they tried to do a serious comparation between a BMW 735 and the X5. I think the 735 ended up winning...
But, Young must still top the list of funny comparations with the C vs. Avalanche
